I have a new movie to share with all of you. It is an incredible story of perseverance, courage, and hope. I know you are going to love it! Plus, it is about football so I'm sure the boys in your home will love it.
Rated PG-13 (brief drinking of alcohol on school property) / 1h 42m
As a typical teenager, Travis Freeman (Mark Hapka) is a local hero both on and off the high-school football field in his small Kentucky town, but in 1997, Travis contracts an infection that destroys his optic nerve and renders him blind overnight. With the loving help and concern of his parents, physical therapist, coach and best friend, Travis demonstrates what true bravery is: He continues to compete on the gridiron and helps his team advance to the state finals.

In my opinion:
This movie was fabulous and I highly enjoyed it. It wasn't cheesy and the actors performed quite well. I was pretty impressed with the true story of a high school student who was a football star. His life was going so well and then all of a sudden experiences an infection in his eye resulting in blindness. He must conquer his obstacles and get through it with the help of his parents, therapist, best friend and coach. I couldn't imagine how that must have been but there were many supporters on his team.
Although, there were some that doubted, Travis overcame his challenges and went forward. I grew to love the physical therapist especially because my daughter has one as well. Therapists have a difficult job but she made it so Travis could overcome his trial of becoming blind. Even his best friend is a true supporter and makes it easier for him. However, Jerry does become jealous that Travis's life always seems to be better than his own. But, even Jerry is able to overcome his jealousy and move forward.
Overall, this movie was enjoyable for all ages. I highly recommend it.
