Recently, we were invited to an exclusive blogger event hosted by Deseret Book, Shadow Mountain and Excel Entertainment. Tiffany and I were thrilled to attend the "Deck your shelves" event. We were able to discover new books, CDs and DVDs to share with family and friends. You too can share these amazing products after you read our reviews.
There were a handful of us invited and I wanted to include other blogger reviews of the event.
First, we were able to take photos of three baskets that we could win throughout the event.
This Shadow Mountain basket caught my eye.
These frames and bags would be perfect gifts for family members.
And another basket of goodies.
Next, we were privileged to hear from Michael McLean, Ilima Todd, Josi Kilpack and John Lyde.
We were also given a swag bag full of goodies to share with friends and family. I wanted to share my top six that I was super excited about.

In my opinion
This book makes a great FHE manual. You get to learn about each character in the Book of Mormon. I love how each page has questions, activities, facts and lessons. I introduced the book a few weeks ago and taught my family about Lehi. Then we used the activity of setting up a mini obstacle course similar to Leh's vision of the Tree of Life. Ites was written by David Butler and was published through Deseret Book. I highly recommend it as a great reading tool for families.
Discover how each figure of the nativity can lead your family closer to Christ this Christmas season. Learn the tradition of the tinkling bell, whip up a batch of French cocoa, create a tender mercy tree, and find ways to make your gift-giving more meaningful as Celebrating a Christ-Centered Christmas guides you through seven meaningful traditions inspired by the nativity setting. These simple experiences will give you an opportunity to escape from the frantic busyness of the Christmas season to spend time reflecting on the Savior and the miracle of His birth.
In my opinion
I've always been a fan of Emily Freeman's books. So, I'm thrilled to dive into another Christmas book to celebrate a Christ Centered Christmas. I haven't finished yet but am excited to read about each figure of the nativity. I'm pretty sure I will enjoy this book about seven holiday traditions to share with my family.
One of the highlights of the event was that I got to meet Josi S. Kilpack. She is well known for her Culinary mysteries such as Lemon Tart or Rocky Road. There are a total of 12 books. She announced that the last one, Wedding Cake will be sold in December 2014 so I will be getting a copy. She wrote a regency romance and I received an advanced reader's edition. A Heart Revealed by Josi S. Kilpack will be released in April 2015 and is published by Shadow Mountain. So excited to read it!
Nine is the ninth female born in her batch of ten females and ten males. By design, her life in Freedom Province is without complications or consequences. However, such freedom comes with a price. The Prime Maker is determined to keep that price a secret from the new batches of citizens that are born, nurtured, and raised androgynously.
But Nine isn't like every other batcher. She harbors indecision and worries about her upcoming Remake Day—her seventeenth birthday, the age when batchers fly to the Remake facility and have the freedom to choose and what they'll be.
When Nine discovers the truth about life outside of Freedom Province, including the secret plan of the Prime Maker, she is pulled between two worlds and two lives. Her decisions will test her courage, her heart, and her beliefs. Who can she trust? Who does she love? And most importantly, who will decide to be?
In my opinion
I haven't read Remake yet but I'm excited about it. It was so nice to meet Ilima Todd and hear all about how she became a writer.
The strongest steel is forged in the hottest flames. From master storyteller Gerald N. Lund comes a new blockbuster series chronicling the lives of two families who will face some of the most turbulent times in history as they are tried to their very cores. Will they be tempered and strengthened by the hammering blows, will they bend to the point of breaking, or will they completely shatter?
As volume one begins, life could not be more promising for the Eckhardts. They finally have a son, Hans, the male heir they have longed for and a child of such brilliance and promise that his success seems certain. But as youthful Hans’s ambition takes him away from his family and their small Bavarian village, the winds of unrest in Europe are about to erupt into the greatest war the world has ever known.
Kicking off a story that will cross generations—and continents—the Eckhardts must brace themselves to weather the storms and turmoil that lie ahead. Only through sheer determination and fortitude will they be able to pass through the refiner’s fire and come out stronger and more united than ever before.
In my opinion
I'm also excited to read a novel by one of my favorite authors, Gerald N. Lund. If you haven't decided on a gift for a family member, might I suggest this one. I'm sure it will be breathtakingly brilliant.
Santa Claus has been kidnapped!
Behind the plot are an evil queen, a wicked stepmother, a sorceress, a beanstalk giant, and, of course, the mischievous Rumpelstiltskin. They have a plan that will erase the term "Happily Ever After" from our storybooks forever.
But it's nearly Christmas Eve, and time is running out. Can Santa and the fairy-tale heroes save the day and bring Christmas to all the children of the world? Will anyone have a "Happily Ever After" again?
Fairy Tale Christmas reminds us all that there is good in everyone and that the magic of Christmas can soften any heart.
Now onto the Blog Hop...here are a few bloggers that also attended this amazing event. Hop on over to their blog and read their reviews to get excited about each product.
