Basic Knitting and Crocheting for Today’s Woman by Anita Closic {Written by Emilee}

Today, I wanted to share another craft book which includes knitting and crocheting projects. It is called,

Basic Knitting and Crocheting for Today’s Woman: 14 Projects to Soothe the Mind & BodyBy Anita Closic

This knitting/crocheting book offers fourteen projects that are fun to make, while allowing the knitter to escape the stresses of the day. Using basic knitting and crocheting techniques, make throws, baby wraps, meditative yoga mats, a table runner, scarves, baby blankets, wrist warmers, and pillows. As the stitches unfold into an amazing art form, the warm colors will help soothe the mind and body. Design patterns are broken down, row by row, in easy-to-follow instructions. The use of color, combined with the ease of the designs and the pattern stitches, provide knitters and crocheters of all skill levels a chance to unwind as they complete these wonderfully colorful yet simple projects.

In my opinion:

For some reason, I thought this book would offer instructions on how to knit and crochet. However, it included 14 basic projects to knit and crochet.  Also, there was a page with  standard abbreviations but I was disappointed that there wasn't a "how to" page.

So, if you already know how to knit and crochet, then this is the book for you. The projects seemed easy for any beginner.

I liked how Anita Closic created simple projects to soothe the mind and body. This book could also be for the stressed out knitters. If you are tired of trying to figure out how to knit a difficult pattern, then try these basic patterns that Closic put together. My favorite pattern was the warm infinity scarf which I'm excited to knit. Other patterns included a yoga wrap, pillow, table runner, scarf and a baby blanket.

My suggestions are to add a "how to" page and use several models for the patterns. There were only two models throughout the entire book. However, I thought that the book was well organized. So, be sure to pick up a copy of Basic knitting and Crocheting for Today's Woman and "relax the mind and body as the stitches unfold into an amazing creation."
