Sweetly Organize IT

This week on
"Sweetly Organize IT,"

I wanted to show you how we re-organized our bathroom counter. It really should be "Sweetly Re-Decorate It," but I don't normally re-decorate our home. However, we have been inspired lately to re-decorate our home so I'll show you one thing at a time.

This week we were inspired by a book called
Candice Olson on design-inspiration and ideas for your home.

We love Candice Olson and her decorating style so it was the perfect book for us.  Of course, I won it in a giveaway. If you don't know who she is...she is the host of Divine Designs on HGTV and she is fabulous.

We wanted something simple, classy and white. I'm afraid I don't have a before picture of our bathroom except for this...

So, of course I cleaned our counter first. That was the easy part. Then, we needed to find the perfect bathroom accessories. We spent a few Saturdays at Pier 1 Imports, Target, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy's.

We finally came up with this...

We found some glass lidded jars at Pier 1 Imports. We added some cotton balls and bars of soap. Candice Olsen did three jars with cotton balls, bars of soap and q-tips. The jars were pretty inexpensive too and they were the perfect size. You don't want your counter to be too overwhelming. We had three jars but it was too crowded so we took one back.

Then, we found these clear bathroom accessories at Pottery Barn. We bought a soap dispenser, tooth brush holder (ours was broken for months) and a holder for q-tips. Classy and simple!

Next, we want to get some new white towels. Then of course, I would love to earn enough money for bedroom furniture but that will take years. The list never ends but it sure is fun to shop for new decorations with my hubby and little guy.

What inspires you to decorate? What room have you decorated lately?

Until next time...I'll show you our bed makeover.
